MEGA STAR 50 Fuselage for Starlet 50,Was £203.50 - Now £149.99 .
The MEGA STAR 50 is a smaller version of the familiar MEGA STAR 2000, a non-scale competition helicopter designed for aerobatics and skill-testing tasks, with an extremely slender, low-drag fuselage shape. This fuselage kit can be used with all versions and power variants of the STARLET 50, i.e. both glow-powered and electric-powered versions. Since the fuselage is so slim, the glow-powered version must be used exclusively with the recommended combination of stainless steel manifold, Order No. 2259, and compact silencer, Order No. 2272. The white pigmented two-part GRP fuselage is supplied with most openings pre-cut, including the window openings and those in the vertical stabiliser. The fins are moulded into the fuselage and feature vent slots through which the tail rotor sucks out the air from inside the fuselage where it has been heated by the silencer; the horizontal stabiliser is supplied as a separate component; like the fuselage it is moulded in GRP with a glossy white finish. The mechanical system of the STARLET 50 can be installed in the fuselage from the front in its fully assembled state, including silencer. It is attached to the fuselage floor and skid bridge pieces by four screws, with a further two mounting points at the top of the fuselage. The tail rotor drive is based on the proven system of a 2 mm Ø spring steel shaft. Since the fuselage and horizontal stabiliser are both moulded in GRP with a high-quality gloss white surface, finishing the model simply means painting on contrasting colours and applying the decals supplied. Alternative decal sheets are available separately in various colour schemes, and if one of these is used the model can even be completed without any painting at all.
